Photographed in Nebraska, this old windmill and pumphouse features a classic sight on the American Plains. Early settlers could barely haul enough water for personal needs, let alone grow crops or water livestock. The majority of the water flowed deep underground, often more than 300 feet below the earth’s surface. Today, water-pumping windmills are still used on rural ranches and small-scale farms. They are weather-proof (avoid direct sunlight) and arrive ready to hang on a recessed float mount. The larger metal prints include a French cleat, while smaller prints (16x20 and smaller) include a float mount notched block hanger.
• WOOD PRINT: Imprinted on 1/2-inch thick maple wood surfaced board, this option is a natural look for your art. Wood prints are ready to hang, including a keyhole or optional wood float with a cleat for extra-large sizes.
• BARNWOOD FRAMED and MAT: For custom-sized Barnwood Framed prints up to 60 inches wide not listed in my shop, please contact me directly for a custom quote. Foam board mounted and finished with more expensive and transparent acrylic glazing rather than glass; this 2.55" wide frame has a cap that adds extra depth and character. The measurements you see in the size choices are for the outside dimension.
